The coffee range "Viennese Temptation" has a new look
The packaging of SONNENTOR "Viennese Temptation", an exquisite assortment of organic coffee compositions, features famous historical figures that tell the stories of the Viennese coffee house culture. .
Empress Sissi, Johann Strauss, Gustav Klimt, Sigmund Freud and Alma Mahler-Werfel were witnesses of the great coffee boom of the 19th century
Special treats - cup by cup
For some, it is a pick me up, for others it’s an elixir of life. In our culture, coffee is synonymic for relaxed get-togethers. The Viennese coffee culture is legendary. What makes a good cup of coffee, of course, is bound to be subjective.
Therefore, SONNENTOR "Viennese Temptation" coffee comes in five different aromas, each of which is a very special composition of distinctive flavours. The exquisite organic coffee beans are sourced from the best growing areas in the world and are roasted to perfection at a traditional Austrian coffee roastery.
Viennese Temptation - Symphonia
These gently roasted and delicious unmixed highland Arabica beans have a beautiful round aroma, reminiscent of toasted hazelnuts. The powerful full-body flavour, even crema and subtly tangy note will satisfy even the most sophisticated coffee lovers. The packaging of the Symphonia Viennese Temptation features Sissi and her true love, Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria.
A lady-in-waiting reports about “Their Majesties rare private trips and harmonious breakfasts together in beautiful hotels.” Whether the traditional Café Zauner in Bad Ischl, Café Demel in Vienna or at Castle Duino near Trieste - it seems that the busy royal couple managed to find opportunities to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee together.
Viennese Temptation - Melange
This mild coffee blend is velvety and elegant and boasts a deliciously nutty flavour. It has a mild roasting taste with a pleasant acidity, which is typical for Viennese coffee.
Johann Strauss adorns the label of the Viennese Temptation Melange. Had he followed his father’s wish, the composer would have become a government official and we would have missed out on an important part of Vienna history. His debut at Café Dommayer in Vienna was a huge success and soon the aspiring violinist’s opportunities to perform were no longer limited to coffee houses. With the Vienna Danube Waltz, Strauss had composed a secret anthem to his hometown. To this day, a typical Viennese coffee house is not complete without a Viennese waltz playing in the background.
Viennese Temptation - Espresso
This strong full-bodied organic blend is a superb coffee with and intense roasting aroma. In addition to the velvety crema, it has a characteristic dark chocolate flavour.
Gustav Klimt would have celebrated his 150th birthday in 2012. His portrait adorns the packaging of the Viennese Temptation Espresso. He was a handsome man and a central figure in the Vienna art scene. Klimt rose to fame with his portraits of the wives, sisters and daughters of wealthy clients. Emilie Floege, Fritza Riedler and Adele Bloch-Bauer are featured in the ornamental, decorative and luxurious style of Klimt.
He was rumoured to have had intimate relationships with his models, which may have contributed to the intriguing aura of the artist. Perhaps a typical Viennese café was spot for yet another private tête-à-tête. Vienna pays tribute to the genius painter with numerous exhibitions. His anniversary could be yet another good reason to enjoy a cup of Viennese Temptation Espresso in honor of this brilliant artist.
Viennese Temptation - Decaffeinated
This pleasantly mild organic coffee blend goes through a gentle decaffeination process, which retains the fine aroma of the beans, their delicate acidity and a delicious roasting flavour.
Sigmund Freud is the central figure on the decaffeinated Viennese Temptation coffee packaging.
From his home and workshop in Vienna, Berggasse 19, it is just a short stroll down to Herrengasse in the inner city precinct where his favourite café, "Café Central” is located. It was Freud’s place of relaxation and source of inspiration for this meticulous observer. The coffee may well not have been the main reason for his revolutionary theories, but it used to bring people together in animated conversation and still does today.
Viennese Temptation - Instant
This organic blend is rich in full-bodied and aromatic flavours. Simply add two teaspoons of instant coffee to a cup of hot – not boiling - water for a quick organic coffee break.
Alma Mahler is featured on the packaging of this coffee variety. Known for her beauty and vivacity, she charmed Gustav Klimt, Walter Gropius, Oskar Kokoschka, Gustav Mahler, just to name a few. Many poems and songs were devoted to the socialite. For many, Alma Mahler was a key figure in the Vienna art scene. Her salon resembled the atmosphere of a typical Vienna coffee house and she was the center of everyone’s attention.
